Dairy Queen adds chicken wrap to value lunch menu

September 30, 2014

Dairy Queen has introduced a new chicken wrap $5 Buck Lunch, available daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The chicken wrap $5 Buck Lunch includes two crispy or grilled chicken wraps topped with melted cheddar cheese, ranch dressing and lettuce served in a tortilla, along with fries, a beverage and a DQ sundae.

The $5 Buck Lunch lineup also includes a bacon cheeseburger, 3-piece chicken strip meal or chili cheese dog, along with fries, beverage and sundae. Customers can trade out the sundae for a small Blizzard for $1 more.

"Wrap, Illinois?"

To promote the chicken wrap launch, Dairy Queen has issued a request to the city of Sandwich, Illinois, to change its name to Wrap.

"In the Dairy Queen system, we are fans of a good sandwich and certainly are fans of Sandwich, Ill. But with other cities in the US named Sandwich, we are offering an opportunity for the city to break away from the pack and be the first in the nation to be named Wrap," EVP of Marketing Barry Westrum said in a news release. "In the spirit of goodwill, we also are making a contribution in the city's name (Wrap, Ill.) to the local Children's Miracle Network Hospital and donating blankets to the city to help the needy stay wrapped up and warm this winter."
