Dairy Queen brings on EVP of research, development

Dairy Queen has hired Jane Friedrich as EVP, research and development. She reports to the president and CEO, according to press release.

Friedrich will set the strategic vision and lead a team to research and develop ingredients and menu items.

"Our success is built upon developing and innovating new treat and hot food products that attract new customers and keep existing fans coming back for more," Troy Bader, president and CEO at International Dairy Queen, said in the release. "Jane's decades of increasingly successful research and development experience paired with leadership in food safety and quality, position her well to lead and grow our global business to the next level."

Prior to joining Dairy Queen, Friedrich spend more than 20 years at Cargill where she held roles in research and development, among others.

"I am excited to join International Dairy Queen at a time when growth is a strategic business priority," Friedrich said in the release. "Providing business results and leading successful teams are my primary focus areas. I look forward to innovating products and enhancing quality to deliver flavors that meet the evolving tastes of consumers around the world."

International Dairy Queen Inc. operates more than 7,500 restaurants in 20 countries. IDQ is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. (Berkshire), which is led by CEO Warren Buffett.
