Dairy Queen franchisor, American Dairy Queen, is expanding its Texas footprint with eight openings planned by September in communities around Houston, Dallas and Austin, according to a news release.
The stores are the result of ADQ's deals with three new and five existing DQ franchisees.
"For many Texans, the Dairy Queen brand has become a household name," American Dairy Queen U.S. Director of Franchise Sales and Development Julie Davis, said in the release. Davis will be a guest on the QSRweb podcast on Friday, June 7, to provide more details about the brand's expansion in the U.S.
"It's our fans' extreme brand loyalty that continues to be the driving force for growth across the state. Our franchisee partners in Texas, both new and existing, are building upon the DQ legacy, and we're thrilled to support this momentum in the months to come."
ADQ has more than 7,000 locations worldwide and is initiating a plan to add more than 70 new restaurants in the United States in 2019. Of the U.S. locations open and operating, 584 are located in Texas.
