Dairy Queen extends DFW presence

December 8, 2014

Dairy Queen has opened a new restaurant in Keller, Texas, at the corner of Keller Parkway and Cindy Street. According to a company announcement, there are few Dairy Queen locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex – most of the 600-plus Texas restaurants are in rural areas – so the new Keller unit fills a void.

Doors open today and the first 100 customers who buy a DQ cake will receive a "Keller DQ Premier Customer" membership card that entitles them to 52 Steak Finger Country Baskets (one per week for a year).

The 4,065-square-foot restaurant is owned and operated by long-time Tarrant County resident and multiunit DQ owner/operator Michael Clarke.

"Keller is a great town. Family-friendly, sophisticated residents, and a whole lot of folks who kept saying, 'We want our Dairy Queen back.' Keller's citizens love Texas, fun, and food so I can’t imagine a better place for a Dairy Queen restaurant," he said in the release.

The Keller location is the fifth DQ that Clarke has opened in the NE Tarrant County area.

The Dairy Queen system has designated the new Keller location as a "flagship" restaurant. It includes an open-air grill, separate chill sections, large tables, music, HD televisions and free wireless Internet.
