To kick off its year-long "Fanniversary" celebration of Dairy Queen's 75th anniversary, the brand has partnered with Oreo to debut the January Blizzard of the Month: the Birthday Cake Oreo Blizzard.
"We are ready to celebrate this extraordinary Fanniversary and the new year with our fans, and what better way to get it started than with the delicious new Birthday Cake OREO Blizzard Treat?" EVP of Marketing Barry Westrum said in a news release. "This Blizzard Treat is the first of many exciting innovations and first-time-ever events that will surprise and delight our fans throughout this momentous year."
The Birthday Cake Oreo Blizzard Treat combines Oreo cookie pieces and confetti frosting with sprinkles mixed with DQ's signature vanilla soft serve.
The DQ brand debuted on June 22, 1940, when Sherb Noble opened his first location in Joliet, Illinois, selling cones, sundaes and take-home pints. The chain now exists in more than 25 countries throughout the world.
