Dairy Queen unveils interactive Web site
September 9, 2007
MINNEAPOLIS — Dairy Queen has launched a new interactive Web site at DairyQueen.com and DQ.com.
A virtual Dairy Queen hostess welcomes visitors to the site and walks them through the world of DQ-Topia. Visitors will find:
- The Blississippi — A river raft guide challenges visitors to ride the mighty Blississippi — on a raft made of waffle. The object is to pick up as many treats as possible with one's toes, and avoid non-treats, in 45 seconds.
- The Blizzard Factory — A Willy Wonka-like character invites visitors to build a Blizzard-making, mousetrap-like contraption, by rearranging a series of gizmos.
- Build a DQ sign — Visitors can create their own message on the DQ sign, using a suction cup letter changer. Once completed, visitors can go to the map of DQ-Topia and see their customized sign in the world.
- GrillBurger Flipathon Classic — Visitors try to flip a burger as many times as possible without letting it fall to the ground.
- DQ Cinema — Visitors can click through a photo slideshow of DQ history and see DQ's latest TV commercials.
Visitors to the site also can navigate through an integrated Google-powered store locator linked with mini-sites for each of the more than 5,600 DQ locations.
