Del Taco Restaurants Inc. is planting its flag in Florida in a big way, promising "aggressive" growth in the Sunshine State to augment its two current restaurants in Orlando. According to a press release, the company has a signed agreement for new 16 new locations in Brevard and Palm Beach counties on the state's southeastern coast.
This continues momentum from 2017, a year the company called a "banner" success, with industry-leading sales growth and openings in California, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico and Oklahoma.
Currently, the Mexican chain has about 550 locations and considers the Southwest U.S. prime territory to develop more.
"We passionately believe there is a high market potential for the Mexican quick service category across the Southeast," Franchise Development Director Laura Tanaka said in the release. "As consumers look to stretch their dollars even further, yet are unwilling to sacrifice quality, Del Taco is primed to continue its legacy of creating brand loyalists, and we're excited to partner with multi-unit operators who would like to capitalize on that opportunity in the state of Florida."
Del Taco offers a Buck and Under menu with items starting at 69 cents. It reflects the growing emphasis that chains are placing on the value, which customers have said they want.
