Del Taco expands in Atlanta with former NFL pro

Mexican QSR, Del Taco, has signed a development agreement with former NFL player Donnell Thompson to bring five locations of the chain to east Atlanta, a news release said. 

Aside from his pro football career, Thompson has been a multi-unit franchisee for McDonald’s, Choice Hotels, Zaxby’s and Denny’s, through his company, the DT Group Inc.

His Del Taco  stores will start opening next year. 

"One of the key points for us was that Del Taco, unlike other quick service restaurants, actually prepares food fresh in its working kitchens. …" Thompson said in a news release. "It’s our goal to make Del Taco a household name in the region."
 
Del Taco has more than 550 locations across 15 states.
