Del Taco injects some heat into 'Tamaledays'

In honor of the holiday season, Del Taco has launched "Tamaledays," featuring a slate of seasoned, shredded pork tamales, a news release said.

Diners can get two tamales — like Cholula smothered tamales — for $4, and the brand is also selling its Happy Tamaledays wrapping paper that's been brought back with two custom designs.

"Our authentic tamales are the perfect holiday comfort food, and this year you can make your hot tamale even hotter with Cholula Hot Sauce," CMO Tim Hackbardt, said in the release. "We've also introduced our new Tamale Fiesta Pack that includes 12 tamales to feed the whole family or to stock up your fridge for a few days of meals with a simple trip through our convenient drive-thrus."

Some of the Tamaleday Celebration specials in coming weeks include:

• Dec. 4: Free tamale with any purchase.
• Dec. 11: $4-off tamales Fiesta Packs.
• Dec. 18: $1 off any smothered tamale meal.

Del Taco is based in Lake Forest, California, with approximately 600 restaurants across 16 states.
