Del Taco intros third $3 meal deal

LAKE FOREST, Calif. — Del Taco is introducing three new $3 value meals; complete meals that include a drink.
The $3 meals include:
- The new Value Deal, with a chicken soft taco, half-pound bean and cheese burrito, and small drink.
- Del's Deal, first introduced in early 2008, it features two half-pound bean and cheese burritos, a regular taco and small drink.
- Classic Combo Deal, introduced in October, it features a Classic Taco, Del Combo burrito and small drink.
Del Taco is promoting the $3 value meals with a new ad that plays out the frustration of not getting real value at competing chains. In the ad, a customer shakes with anger after receiving his tray full of food, and explains how he realized he was being ripped off at other chains. The cashier, having seen this before, calls for help. From the back of the restaurant comes an employee who proceeds to get a "wedgie" from the customer. The customer sighs and replies, "Thanks, that's better."
