Del Taco names new president

LAKE FOREST, Calif. — Del Taco announced the appointment of 27-year company veteran Shirlene Lopez to the post of president of the 41-year-old Mexican fast-food company.

 

"Shirlene Lopez is a dynamic leader who understands the Del Taco business at every level," said Sid Feltenstein, chairman of Sagittarius Brands Inc., Del Taco's parent company. "She is committed to doing whatever it takes to deliver Del Taco to greater success."

 

According to a news release, Lopez started her Del Taco career one day after her 14^th birthday mopping floors and wiping tables. Within four years, she was a restaurant general manager, and by age 20, she was a training manager and part of the new store opening team.

 

In 1989, Lopez became human resources manager for the company and later managed store remodeling, corporate office relocation and other brand-wide initiatives.

 

Lopez replaces Ron Petty, who has become president of Sagittarius Brands Development Group.
