Del Taco pushes plant-based, opens in Phoenix

Del Taco is opeing a Phoenix, Arizona, store on West Deer Valley, as part of a 10-store development deal for the western portion of the metropolitan area with Franchisee Chris Beavor.

"Since joining Del Taco, I've felt incredible support from likeminded operators in the system and from our experienced executive leaders," Beavor, who operates two other stores, said in a company press release. "There's a true 'team mentality' since we're all motivated to increase our bottom-line in dynamic and creative ways. Whether it's through streamlining our product offerings or unveiling engaging app promotions, I'm confident we'll continue to see success with our digital efforts and menu innovation."

Beavor is also hoping to expand into the Tucson, Arizona market, Del Taco.

Plant-based push

Among the offerings Beavor and other Del Taco franchisees will feature this Labor Day weekend is the plant-based Epic Beyond Burrito, whichs weighs nearly 1 pound and includes the Original Mex variety, as well as a fresh avocado, loaded queso and Cali burrito.

Del Taco also recently introduced fresh guacamole, which is available at no additional cost in the Epic Beyond Original Mex Burrito or can be added a la carte to any item at Del Taco.

Del Taco is based in Lake Forest, California, and has 600 locations in 15 states.
