Delphi order confirmation boosts drive-thru sales for Subway franchisee
June 20, 2010
Subway restaurants do not commonly feature drive-thru operations, but for those that do, speed of service and order accuracy are prominent concerns. Rochester, Minn.-based Subway franchisee Mary Jeanne Jernberg has implemented Delphi Display Systems Inc.'s drive-thru Order Confirmation System (OCS) at her store and has experienced double-digit sales gains.
The Order Confirmation System allows customers to see the list of toppings on their sandwich and reflects their customized order as well as the running total of the order. Since Subway offers many more topping choices than most QSRs, the order confirmation system has been particularly beneficial to customers and staff. The system also allows the store to feature any advertised promos as well as community successes, such as a big win by a local school team.
"They don't get any of that with a speaker post," Jernberg said in a news release.
Jernberg said the system met her store's needs for speed and accuracy, and drive-thru sales have increased by as much as 15 percent.
