Disposable aprons address pandemic-era safety concerns

Safety ranks at the top of most diners' lists of concerns, and now brands have a line of disposable aprons to give both workers and customers added protection.

Novolex brand, Hilex Poly, created the back-tie capes to address pandemic-era concerns around hygiene in restaurants, a news release said.

"We want to help our customers handle the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic," Lawson, Hilex Poly vice president of sales, said in the release.

The white polyethylene garments measure 30 by 42 inches and are designed for a single use.

Novolex makes packaging and food service products for food service, retail and health-care applications, as well as building supplies.

The company's North American offices are based in South Carolina.
