Doc Popcorn names new chief operations officer

September 6, 2012

Doc Popcorn has appointed food industry veteran Garth Moore as its chief operations officer, a newly created position designed to streamline operations, further increase support and accelerate growth of its rapidly expanding franchise system.

Moore will oversee all aspects of operations, purchasing and distribution, training, construction and "POPrietor" support.

"The position of chief operations officer will be instrumental in advancing the growth of Doc Popcorn," said Rob Israel, co-founder and CEO of Doc Popcorn. "Garth's experience and insight are invaluable to us as we continue to expand and evolve our franchise system."

Moore has more than 20 years of experience in the restaurant and franchising industry. Most recently, he held the position of U.S. director of operations for Extreme Pita where he was responsible for purchasing and contracts, logistics and distribution, construction, operations and support, training and marketing. Prior to that, he served as vice president at Eatza Pizza, director at Cold Stone Creamery and held various positions of increasing responsibility at Taco Bell.

Moore studied Hotel and Restaurant Administration at Washington State University.

Doc Popcorn has more than 60 open locations and an additional 300 units currently under development.
