A Kentucky franchisee is opening a Dairy Queen by month's end in Princeton in the western part of the state. Owned and operated by multi-unit operating group, Fourteen Foods, the store will host a soft launch June 30, followed by a grand opening event in mid-July or early August, a news release said.
The Marion Road store features an open-air grill and separate "Grill" and "Chill" sections, as well as a drive-thru and patio. Grill & Chill stores offer made-to-order breakfast, lunch and dinner options, as well as soft-serve and novelty desserts.
"Princeton is rich with history and a community we are humbled to be a part of, Matth Frauenshuh, owner and CEO of Fourteen Foods, said in the release. "From the positive engagement with City leaders to outreach from local partners, there could not be a better time to bring additional smiles to the community.
Frauenshuh joined Dairy Queen in 2002, and his company's portfolio includes more than 220 locations across 13 states. Fourteen Foods is also the largest DQ franchisee in Kentucky, operating more than 40 locations there.
International Dairy Queen Inc., based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is the parent company of American Dairy Queen Corporation and Dairy Queen Canada Inc. The company has more than 7,000 locations in the United States, Canada and more than 20 in other countries.
