DT Research unveils new line of handheld POS devices

NEW YORK — DT Research Inc., a developer of information appliances for vertical markets, has announced the introduction of the WebDT 400 series, a new line of ruggedized handheld point-of-service devices designed for mobile order-taking, ticket scanning, payment processing and inventory management. The devices are featured at the NRF 98th Annual Convention & Expo in New York Jan. 11-14.
 
The WebDT 400 series of point-of-service handheld features include:
  • A 4.3-inch display with a fully-integrated MSR, RFID and/or barcode scanner
  • A unique, rugged design, with an IP65 rating for liquid and dust resistance
  • Built-in remote management software
  • Hot-swappable batteries that support up to eight hours of use
  • Wireless networking and Bluetooth connectivity
  • Vibrating alert capability for paging and communication
Operators can choose from two models of the WebDT POS handheld:
  • WebDT 430, which features a 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen with an outdoor-viewable display and a virtual keyboard. The large high-resolution screen significantly improves touch accuracy and usability in any environment.
  • WebDT 435, which features a 3.5-inch, high-resolution, outdoor-viewable LCD touch display with a physical numeric keypad.
