Dunkin' and Baskin-Robbins' parent, Dunkin' Brands, got a perfect score in this year's Corporate Equality Index from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, which gauges corporations on LGBTQ workplace equality. It also achieved 100% on last year's index and is among more than 680 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year, a news release said.
The index rates companies in five areas:
"Dunkin' has a long history of embracing inclusion and diversity, and we take great pride in creating and fostering an environment where everyone is valued and treated with dignity and respect," said Stephanie Lilak, Dunkin' Brands senior vice president and chief human resources officer, in the release.
"We are honored that our commitment to building a strong, diverse workplace, fueled by our corporate employees across the organization, has been recognized by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation with a perfect score on this year's Corporate Equality Index."
Dunkin' Brands has four employee resource groups to help the company achieve its commitment to diversity and inclusion, including its network of LGBTQ employees and allies, called Inspire, that works for inclusivity while providing support and information.
Dunkin' has 21,000 outlets in 60 nations globally, including more than 13,000 Dunkin' locations in the U.S. and more than 8,000 Baskin-Robbins nationally.
