Dunkin' Brands launches community foundation

April 5, 2007

CANTON, Mass. — With a mission to better prepare emergency -response organizations in times of crisis, Dunkin' Brands, the parent of Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins, has launched The Dunkin' Brands Community Foundation.

To support this mission, the Foundation recently awarded grants, both in excess of $250,000, to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and America's Second Harvest – The Nation's Food Bank Network.

"Americans have always come together after a disaster or crisis, contributing their time, their hearts and their money to support the heroes who serve our communities," said Stephan Shelton, chairman of the board of directors for The Dunkin' Brands Community Foundation and owner of Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins franchises. "These two grants will help us ensure that our community heroes have the resources and support they need to respond when we need them most."

The Dunkin' Brands Community Foundation is supported by a collaborative effort between the corporation and its Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins franchisees.

"Acting alone, there is only so much any organization can do. By also harnessing the giving power of our thousands of independent franchise owners, we can together make a significant contribution to the heroes in our communities," Shelton said.
