Dunkin' and Post Consumer Brands have partnered to create a way for customers to have their coffee and eat it too with a pair of new cereals made with Dunkin' coffee that will debut in August. The cereals — Dunkin' caramel macchiato and mocha latte — are inspired by two favorite Dunkin' coffee flavors and mark the first collaboration between Post and Dunkin', a news release said.

The caramel macchiato cereal comes with caramel-swirled marshmallows along with its crunchier companions to recreate the flavors of the layered iced coffee beverage. Mocha latte cereal features chocolate and latte-swirled marshmallows to recall the cereal's liquid namesake, espresso.

Dunkin' said the cereals contain roughly one-tenth of a cup of coffee per serving, so it's less about the caffeine kick than the coffee flavor.

"Coffee and cereal are the ultimate breakfast go-tos, ranking as the top two most consumed items to help people start their day," Josh Jans, brand manager of Cereal Partnerships at Post Consumer Brands, said in the release. "Dunkin' coffee is a daily ritual for Americans, and we're excited to be partnering with them to indulge their fans' coffee cravings. Getting the flavor right on our new cereals was a top priority, and we think we've nailed the rich, smooth and creamy taste."

Nearly 65% of American adults drink coffee every day. Consumed in nearly 90% of all U.S. households and popular with people of all ages, cereal is America's No.1 favorite breakfast food, the release said. And today, it's also increasingly enjoyed as a snack, lunch or dinner meal replacement, or as an ingredient in recipes.

Dunkin' has more than 13,000 restaurants in 41 countries worldwide and is based in Canton, Massachusetts.
