Dunkin' Donuts' brings heat to breakfast sandwich lineup

Dunkin' Donuts has rolled out a new Hot & Spicy Breakfast Sandwich and Hot & Spicy Wake-Up Wrap. The sandwich includes a spicy omelet featuring jalapeno peppers, red bell peppers and pepper jack cheese with habanero, served with two slices of bacon and a slice of white cheddar cheese on a plain bagel.

The wrap features one-half of the spicy omelet, served with one slice of bacon and a slice of white cheddar cheese on a flour tortilla. Both are available through August at participating restaurants nationwide.

Stan Frankenthaler, Dunkin' Brands' executive chef and vice president of Product Innovation, said the product was created from customer demand.

"We always take feedback from our guests into consideration as we develop new menu items to suit their needs and taste preferences. We've learned that our guests are seeking bold flavors, including heat and spice, so we're excited to introduce the new Hot & Spicy Breakfast Sandwich and Wake-Up Wrap to our guests, building on this trend of a spicier flavor profile, during the hottest month of the year," he said.

To balance out the heat, Dunkin' Donuts is also offering a Raspberry Lime Coolatta frozen beverage. Featuring a sweet lime flavor with a hint of raspberry, the Raspberry Lime Coolatta is available for a limited time at participating restaurants nationwide.

Dunkin' Donuts has also introduced virtual Dunkin' Donuts Cards featuring July 4th themed designs. They can be sent via email, text or Facebook through the mGift feature on the brand's mobile app, available for both iPhone and Android smartphones.
