Dunkin' Donuts continues aggressive expansion

September 30, 2010

Now, even more of America will "run on Dunkin."

During the first half of 2010, Dunkin' Donuts signed multi-store agreements in 14 markets, and many have already opened, including in Raleigh, N.C.; Phoenix and Atlanta.

Now, the donut/coffee chain has announced another another multi-store development agreement, this time in South Carolina.

The agreement was signed with franchisee The Beekman Group for its portfolio company TBG Food Acquisition Corp. It entails a goal of building 14 new restaurants in Greenville (six units) and Columbia (eight units).

Stores in both markets will open beginning in 2011. The development is expected to be completed by 2016.

The Beekman Group has partnered with Peter Marrinan, a 14-year Dunkin' Donuts executive, to develop the plans. TBG Food Acquisition Corp. currently owns and operates 44 locations, including 14 restaurants in Greenville.

"Since our initial acquisition in December 2005, we have worked with Dunkin’ Brands and TBGFAC management to almost triple the company’s locations through new store openings and acquisitions.  We look forward to continuing this development," said John G. Troiano, managing partner, The Beekman Group.

Dunkin' Donuts has opened 338 net new locations worldwide so far this year, and recently signed expansion agreements in South Florida and Connecticut, among other markets.
