Dunkin' Donuts extends nontraditional presence to Northwestern University

January 29, 2014

Dunkin' Donuts has announced plans to open a restaurant in Norris Center on the Northwestern University campus in Evanston, Ill.

The new restaurant, scheduled to open in the spring, will be owned and operated by Sodexo, which is a foodservices and facilities management multinational corporation headquartered in France. According to a press release, Sodexo operates more than a dozen Dunkin' Donuts locations in the U.S.

"Universities are increasingly looking for more amenities to offer campus residents and visitors, and our brand's flexible design options couple convenience with great-tasting food and America's favorite coffee," said Grant Benson, CFE, vice president of global franchising and business development, Dunkin' Brands. "College students, faculty and staff can refuel on a delicious line-up of beverages and food between classes, tests and studying."

Northwestern University joins other colleges and universities that have brought Dunkin' Donuts to campus in the last two years, including Emory University, Providence College, University of Baltimore and Virginia Tech.
