March 24, 2009
CANTON, Mass. — Dunkin' Donuts has announced the signing of a multiunit development deal with Nita Patel for five locations throughout western Kentucky and Indiana. The first is set to open in Evansville, Ind.
The franchisee's plans call for one unit to open in Owensboro, Ky., in 2010, and the balance to open in Kentucky within the next three years. Owensboro is located about 40 miles south of Evansville.
Patel has extensive personal and family background in the hospitality, food and beverage industry and owns a Super 8 Hotel in Owensboro. As a child, her parents owned and operated a Dunkin' Donuts franchise.
In addition to the five units purchased by Patel, Dunkin' is looking for new franchisees to purchase a minimum of five restaurants in Evansville, including the surrounding counties of Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Spencer, DuBois and Daviess.
Dunkin' Donuts' development of the Evansville DMA is part of a steady and strategic growth strategy, which includes expanding in existing markets while entering new cities across the country to help direct the company's future growth.
