Dunkin' Donuts has opened a new flagship restaurant in India, in the South Indian City of Bangalore. The company also announced its franchisee in that market, Jubilant FoodWorks, is on track to meet its development target of 500 units over the long term.
Since signing its master franchise agreement with Jubilant in 2011, 36 Dunkin' Donuts restaurants have been opened in 12 cities across India. With the Bangalore opening, the brand now has a presence in three of India's most populated urban markets, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
"We are pleased with the development progress we've made across India over the past few years with our master franchisee Jubilant FoodWorks," said John Varughese, VP, Dunkin' Brands India, Middle East and Southeast Asia, in a press release. "Since opening our first restaurants in New Delhi in 2012, we've expanded our presence to a number of other cities across India, including Mumbai, Gurgaon and Punjab. With the opening of our new restaurant in Bangalore, Dunkin' Donuts is well on its way to having a national presence in India."
The Dunkin' Donuts menu in India features some locally-inspired offerings, such as the Wicked Wrap (spicy chicken and nachos wrapped in a tortilla) and Spiked Iced Tea.
