Canton, Mass.-based Dunkin' Donuts, a subsidiary of Dunkin' Brands, has opened its 3,000th international location. The new unit is located in Shanghai, China, and is the company's 71st in the country.
Dunkin' Donuts opened its first restaurant outside of the United States in Canada in 1961. It has since grown to 31 countries.
The brand is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year in Thailand and the Philippines.
The company also recently signed an agreement with Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd. to develop more than 500 stores in India throughout the next 15 years.
Additional growth is slated for markets in Russia, Ukraine, Europe, the Middle East, Latin and South America and Asia-Pacific.
