Dunkin' Donuts plants flag in Guatemala

May 10, 2012

Less than a week after announcing its debut in India, Dunkin' Donuts has arrived in Guatemala, opening its first of four planned to open there within the next month.

The new unit is located on the Paseao Miraflores in Guatemala. With this announcement, Dunkin' Donuts now has more than 10,000 restaurants in 33 countries worldwide.

Dunkin' Donuts is expanding an existing relationship with Grupo Intur, a company that currently operates 42 Dunkin' Donuts locations in Honduras. Grupo Intur has a history of operating successful franchise businesses throughout Latin America and has signed agreements to develop Dunkin' Donuts restaurants throughout Guatemala throughout the next several years.

Dunkin' Donuts will offer Guatemalan guests a full menu of the brand's classic food and beverages, along with products customized to accommodate local tastes, such as a special Guatemalan Espresso Blend.

"We are honored and delighted to expand our relationship with Group Intur to bring Dunkin' Donuts to even more consumers around the world with the grand opening of the first restaurant in Guatemala," said Giorgio Minardi, president, Dunkin' Brands International. "Central America presents a strong growth potential for Dunkin' Donuts, and we are excited to introduce our coffee and snack foods at a great value served in a fast, friendly and convenient environment to the people of Guatemala."

Dunkin' Donuts has more than 250 restaurants in Central and South America with locations in Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Panama and Peru.
