Dunkin' Donuts rewards carpoolers

March 26, 2008

ESSEX, Conn. — NuRide Inc., the nation's largest incentive-based online ridesharing community, has partnered with Dunkin' Donuts to reward Connecticut commuters with discounts on Dunkin' Donuts coffee and donuts ($5 off a "Box 'O Joe" and a dozen donuts) that can be shared with friends, colleagues and commuting partners.

Dunkin' Donuts joins a growing list of companies who sponsor commuters as part of the Tri-State 5,000,000 Mile Rideshare Challenge. The ongoing challenge event involves thousands of area commuters who will share rides resulting in 5,000,000 fewer miles driven and 2,100 fewer tons of greenhouse gas emissions. To participate, commuters use NuRide's online ridesharing service to find other people going their way and share a ride. The NuRide Web site calculates the savings for each ridesharing trip and awards participants with points, which can be redeemed for rewards provided by corporate sponsors.
