Dunkin' Donuts signs multi-unit agreement in Michigan

Dunkin' Donuts announced the signing of a multi-unit store development agreement with new franchisees Amit and Kalpesh Patel, for Detroit, Michigan.

Dunkin' Donuts announced the signing of a multi-unit store development agreement with new franchisees Amit and Kalpesh Patel, for Detroit, Michigan. The pair will develop four Dunkin' Donuts restaurants and one multi-brand unit with Baskin-Robbins, according to a company press release. Their first restaurant is planned to open in 2017. 

Second-generation franchisees and brothers Amit and Kalpesh Patel grew up working at their father's Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in Chicago and also have experience in the gas and convenience industry. They will manage and oversee operations for each of their new restaurants.

"We are excited to expand both Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins' presence in Detroit and play an important role in the daily lives of people who live, work and visit here," said Amit Patel, Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins franchisee. "We have a passion and loyalty for both brands, and look forward to opening our restaurants in the years to come."

Dunkin' Donuts franchise opportunities still remain available in Detroit as well as in Alpena, Flint, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Marquette and Traverse City. To help fuel additional growth throughout the state, special development incentives are available, the release stated.

In an effort to keep the brand competitive, Dunkin' Donuts offers flexible concepts for any real estate format, including free-standing restaurants, end caps, in-line sites, gas and convenience, travel plazas, universities, as well as other retail environments. Additionally, multi-brand restaurants that combine Dunkin' Donuts with Baskin-Robbins under one roof are available.
