Dunkin' Donuts signs multi-unit deal in Iowa

January 9, 2012

Dunkin' Donuts has signed a multi-unit store development agreement with sister and brother franchisee team, Lori Kelderman High and Jeff Kelderman, for eight new restaurants in Des Moines, Iowa.

Two restaurants are scheduled to open in 2013 and the remainder should be open by 2016.

"We are excited to expand Dunkin' Donuts presence in Des Moines and play an important role in the daily lives of people who live, work and visit here," said Lori High. "We have a passion and loyalty for the brand and look forward to the opening of our restaurants in our hometown of Des Moines in the years to come."

Franchise opportunities are still available in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Dunkin' Donuts outlined its aggressive expansion plans last week, aiming to double the number of its U.S. footprint in the next 20 years.

The company, which currently has nearly 7,000 U.S. restaurants, has garnered investor interest since going public in July through talk of expanding Dunkin' Donuts westward in the U.S. from its Northeast roots.
