National DCP, the supply chain management cooperative serving the franchisees of Dunkin' Donuts, promoted two executive team members — Gene Long to president of distribution and Darrell Riekena to CIO/COO, according to a company press release. National DCP provides business solutions, including food, beverages, supplies, packaging, technology, and health care to more than 8,900 Dunkin' Donuts locations in the U.S. and in 51 countries.

"Following the fantastic delivery of our Mission in 2015, National DCP is realigning our leadership and corporate resources to better advance the goals of the business," said Scott Carter, National DCP CEO. "Promoting Gene and Darrell will allow us to execute our vision of the future with agility and certain success."

Long, a 40-year veteran of supply chain management, joined NDCP as COO in December 2014. In his new role he will focus on all of the assets of the business in terms of transportation and warehouse operations. Long's previous executive roles included senior VP of strategy and business development for Cardinal Health, founder and president of UPS Consulting, president and COO of SiteStuff, founder and president of BAX Global, and national director in strategy and operations at Deloitte Consulting.

In the dual role of the CIO/COO, Riekena will lead business process alignment and evolution across multi-functional teams, IT, the implementation of strategic initiatives, and change management activities with a focus on growth, speed and agility. His key responsibilities include spearheading the Project Freshstart IT and business transformation initiative and overseeing IT platforms that serve the company's headquarters, nationwide distribution network and more than 8,900 Dunkin' Donuts restaurants.  Prior to joining NDCP as CIO in January 2013, Riekena held global technology and business leadership roles at Target, Kroger, LimitedBrands, and JCPenney.
