Three years after launching its Next Generation restaurant format, Dunkin' has opened its thousandth store with the design configuration on March 26 – this one in Woodstock, Georgia, according to a news release.
The design features a more approachable format, according to the company, with elements like a front-facing bakery case, a dedicated mobile order pick-up area and tap system for drinks like the brand's Nitro-Infused Cold Brew.
The stores are also more energy efficient as they are built with elements like LED lighting, high-efficiency mechanical equipment and low-flow faucets, and are already helping the stores register 33% more energy-efficient than the brand's conventional stores.
For the official Georgia ribbon cutting, franchisee Andy Awale, of the Awale Network ,was joined by Dunkin' President Scott Murphy, who also is head of parent company, Inspire Brands Beverage-Snack Category and Dunkin' Regional Vice President Mathias Piercy.
The brand said openings will soon take place in places like in Mira Mesa, California, as well as Trumbull, Connecticut and Las Vegas.
