Dunkin' teams up with Saucony on doughnut-bedazzled marathon shoe

March 21, 2019

Last spring when sneaker maker, Saucony and  Dunkin' released a shoe, it sold out quickly. Now the two partners have re-emerged with the new Saucony x Dunkin' Kinvara 10 sneaker, which not only wears the two brands proudly on itsexterior but also pays tribute to the upcoming April 15 Boston Marathon, a news release said.

The limited-edition shoe goes on sale, March 21, for $120 at saucony.com and Marathon Sports. A kids edition costs $65.

This year's edition takes the Kinvara 10 and adds a Dunkin'-inspired graphic, strawberry-frosted doughnut medallions, Dunkin' coffee cups and the word "Boston" on a reflective strip. The sneakers come packaged in a modified Dunkin' doughnut box.

"The new Saucony X Dunkin' Kinvara 10 represents the speed for which our brand is recognized and the deep Boston heritage and support for marathoners that we share with Saucony," Dunkin' Brands Director of Strategic Partnerships Justin Unger, said in the release. "We are proud to once again collaborate with Saucony to celebrate the love of Dunkin' and literally keep people running throughout marathon season and all year-round."

Dunkin' is also running a special for DD Perks Rewards members at participating New England locations, from April 8-15, where orders placed through its On-the-Go Mobile Ordering will earn twice the points. The shoes are also being made available for Boston Marathon runners April 12-14 at the John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo on Boylston Street in Boston.
