Chicken tamales are a classic Mexican holiday dish, so El Pollo Loco is featuring the dough-wrapped poultry-filled pillows as a seasonal LTO, a news release said.

Likewise, the chain opened its newest location on Monday, Nov. 19, in Grand Prairie, Texas on Highway 161, a news release said. The store is the brand's second in Grand Prairie and sixth operated by franchise partner, Chicken Time Holdings.
"We are thrilled to open the newest El Pollo Loco restaurant in this amazing area of Grand Prairie and expand the brand in Dallas-Fort Worth," Chicken Time Holdings CEO David Henry, said in the release. "Given the success from our first Grand Prairie location and an influx of growing opportunities in the area, we are proud to continue serving the city."
On Tuesday, Nov. 27, El Pollo Loco will host a grand opening at the store with a live radio broadcast, ribbon-cutting ceremony, free food and a mariachi band. The 2,995-square-foot freestanding restaurant seats 66 in the brand's Vision design with rustic elements and an open kitchen.
