El Pollo Loco sweetens franchise deals to grow

El Pollo Loco is offering the possibility of initial franchise fee discounts of up to 100 percent off to multi-unit franchisees, who want to help the chain grow outside of California and Nevada, a news release said.

All new and existing franchisees making multi-unit development agreements outside of those two states, are eligible for these incentives until next March 31:

• $30,000 discounted initial franchise fee for initial restaurant and $20,000 discounted fee for each subsequent location.
• Three years of discounted royalty fees: 2 percent first year one, 3 percent second and 4 percent third year.
• Half off initial franchise fee for sites opened ahead of calendar year specified in development schedule.
• Eligibility for no initial franchise fee for any additional restaurants opened in development agreement term beyond specified number.

The program is designed to accelerate growth across new markets by providing significant incentives for existing and new qualified, experienced franchisees," El Pollo Loco Chief Development Officer John Dawson said in a news release. "We’re confident El Pollo Loco has a significant runway for expansion and we look forward to partnering with franchisees to bolster our pace of growth."
