Arby's returned to its roots today in Youngstown, Ohio, reopening across the street from the chain's first location, a 10-seat drive-in unit opened in 1964, by brothers, Leroy and Forrest Raffel. It's the kind of event that mandated the presence of the brand's current CEO Paul Brown, according to a company press release.
Brown was at the opening to hear a resolution from the city that the entire Boardman Township area, where the restaurant is located near Youngstown, would become "Meat Town USA" for the day. It was a representation of the brand's reinvigoration in the same neighborhood where the chain first started.
