EVOS to offer free organic shakes
April 8, 2008
TAMPA, Fla. — EVOS restaurants plan to shake things up April 22, Earth Day, by offering free organic, low-fat milkshakes to their customers.
EVOS serves burgers, fries, and milkshakes that contain 50 percent to 70 percent less fat than its competitors.
"We have been a leader in sustainable business since our inception in 1994, and not because it's ‘cool to be green.' We want to continue to educate our guests and the marketplace about our initiatives and how it makes a difference. Giving out free organic milkshakes is our way of thanking the community for supporting EVOS and what it stands for on Earth Day," said EVOS co-founder Dino Lambridis.
In addition to environmentally friendly construction, EVOS' stores offset a portion of their energy usage with renewable wind energy. By being a part of this program, each store has the environmental impact of taking eight cars off the road or planting 32 acres of trees every year. To conserve energy use at its stores, the company uses compact fluorescent light bulbs and automatic sensors to turn lights off when they are not needed.
