Fast food trash blamed in U.K. rat population explosion
November 24, 2008
Sunday Sun: Britain is experiencing a 208 percent increase in its rodent population, blamed in part on discarded fast food. Their diet of fatty foods also means bigger rats.
The country's increasingly warm winters also mean rats aren't dying off in cold weather.
The Daily Mail also blamed the switch from weekly to biweekly trash collections, summer floods, rising fees for vermin eradication and an increase in composting.
