First standalone Dunkin' Donuts opens in The Bahamas

August 13, 2009

Dunkin' Donuts is celebrating the opening of its flagship restaurant in the Bahamas. The company's newest international restaurant, in downtown Nassau, is owned and operated by Dunkin' Donuts' franchise partner Bahamas QSR Ltd., a member of The Myers Group of Companies. The opening marks a key milestone in the gradual revitalization of the city.

Dunkin' Brands chairman Jon Luther and Dunkin' Brands CEO Nigel Travis celebrated the opening at an open house, which gave customers an opportunity to sample Dunkin' Donuts menu items.
The downtown store follows two non-traditional locations opened by Bahamas QSR Ltd. in March at the Lynden Pindling International Airport. Additional stores are planned to open on the island by the end of this year.

Dunkin' Donuts opened its first international restaurant in Japan in 1970. Today, Dunkin' Donuts has more than more than 6,300 Dunkin' Donuts shops in the United States and more than 2,500 shops in 30 countries including Korea, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Columbia, and most recently China.
