Developer Anthony V. Pugliese III has filed a $5 billion lawsuit against Subway co-founder and president Fred DeLuca for breach of contract in a business deal unrelated to the restaurant chain.
Pugliese and DeLuca were business partners in a venture to build the country's first eco-friendly city, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Pugliese's suit also charges DeLuca with fraudulent conduct and bad faith dealings, among other things. The lawsuit contends that DeLuca and his company FD Destiny LLC engaged in a fraudulent and deceptive scheme designed to take Pugliese's interest and financial investment in the multi-billion dollar business venture.
The Palm Beach Post reports that DeLuca previously filed a claim against Pugliese for mismanagement of the project.
