Tim Hortons' donut line-up now features the Apple Cobbler Donut, inspired by Food Network Canada's Donut Showdown. The new offering is available along with a small coffee for an introductory price of $1.99.
"Donuts are an iconic part of our menu, which is why we are always introducing new and exciting offerings," said Donna Finelli, vice president of Marketing, Food & Merchandise, Tim Hortons. "Food Network Canada's Donut Showdown was a great opportunity for talented chefs to come up with a new creation for our guests and we couldn't be happier with the way the Apple Cobbler Donut turned out."
The Apple Cobbler donut was initially created by Trista Sheen, a Toronto-area executive chef. It is a bloom donut dipped in vanilla fondant, with an open-faced spiced apple filling, topped with cobbler crumbs. Sheen was one of three competitors vying for the chance to have their donut creation featured in Tim Hortons restaurants across Canada. She also received $10,000 courtesy of Tim Hortons.
