Former McDonald's worker claims discrimination
July 31, 2008
The Daily Californian: A former Berkeley, Calif., McDonald's employee who has Asberger's syndrome and was let go along with two other disabled employees, has filed a discrimination complaint. The employee had worked at the store for 21 years and was fired two days after the store was sold to a new owner.
Her supporters protested in front of the Downtown Berkeley McDonald's on July 29, 2008, holding signs that read, "I'm hatin' it," and passing out information about the situation to customers.
The new owner issued a statement of his compliance with the American Disabilities Act and denied any wrongdoing.
