Franchise Brands LLC to purchase Taco Del Mar

Milford, Conn.-based Franchise Brands LLC has successfully placed a bid to buy the rights to Taco Del Mar through a recent bankruptcy auction.

The Seattle-based Taco Del Mar, a quick-service Mexican concept with more than 200 locations, will join other concepts under the Franchise Brands umbrella, including Personal Training Institute, a fitness and nutrition franchise, Mama Deluca’s Pizza Now!, and HomeVestors of America, Inc, a real estate concept.

"Franchise Brands is a company with an interest in acquiring businesses to create a diverse portfolio ready for expansion through franchising,” said Franchise Brands' managing director, Lisa M. Oak. “Taco Del Mar is an established brand with name recognition. The concept fits our preferred business model with its ease of operation, relatively low investment and presence in a popular foodservice category."

Franchise Brands LLC was started in 2005 with help from the co-founders of the Subway restaurant chain. The company’s goal is to purchase or develop relationships with food and non-food businesses to increase growth worldwide.
