Bravo Food Group, LLC, a Michigan-based franchise group, has purchased 16 Taco Bell restaurants in the Central Florida area with plans to renovate and reopen.
Older stores will be renovated beginning no later than 2013.
According to the Orlando Business Journal, the stores, located in Orange, Seminole and Volusia counties, were purchased in July from Taco Bell Corp. for an undisclosed price.
The Bravo Food Group is a division of SB Partners LP, which also owns 20 Taco Bell locations in Georgia and South Carolina.
The agreement includes a Taco Bell/Pizza Hut combo store and a Taco Bell/Long John Silver's combo store.
There are 81 Taco Bell restaurants located throughout Central Florida. Seventeen are corporate owned.
The chain's parent company, Yum! Brands, began selling corporate-owned units in 2007 to increase franchise revenue.
