'Free fries' fast -- tough to say, easy to get at Steak 'n Shake

Steak 'n Shake is now providing a free order of French fries to each customer as part of the company's "We're All Essential" campaign first launched March 26 to support those working in essential industries, as well as all Americans as we roll through the COVID-19 pandemic and its restrictions on daily life. Customers who visit the brand's drive-thrus can get a free order of fries at their request, a news release said.
"In such challenging times, we would like to do our part for our communities by giving out free fries to all," said Steak 'n Shake CEO Sardar Biglari, in the release.
The chain is also offering a family "4 Pack Meal Deal," with four each of Double 'n Cheese steakburgers, small fries and sodas, for $19.99. Available every day by drive-thru or take-out only. Additionally, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, its "Half-Price Happy Hour" offers half-price on all milkshakes and drinks.
The brand now has more than 600 restaurants worldwide.
