FreshMarx launches new bar code technology

MIAMISBURG, Ohio —FreshMarx, a subsidiary of bar-code technology leader Paxar, has introduced a new bar code system designed to helpoperators manage food freshness more accurately.
The new FreshMarx 9416 MRD labeling system combines an automated, programmable keypad–printer with a bar code scanner to simplify and ensure accurate food date coding and tracking — from the receiving dock all the way to the prep counter. The printer streamlines the otherwise tedious and time consuming task of manually handwriting date-code labels. With just the touch of a button, it instantly prints clear, easy-to-read labels, complete with accurate food product name, prep and use-by information, as well as a bar code. From that point on, freshness tracking and any further necessary labeling are as simple as scanning the bar code and entering the number of labels needed.
