Fro.zen.yo announces expansion agreement

February 3, 2012

Fro.zen.yo announced that a franchise agreement has been reached to develop additional stores in Northern Virginia.

The announcement involves several new family franchise owners, including Carole McMahon and Cindy and Nathan Kellogg, all Virginia residents.

McMahon is an aesthetician with years of experience in the Washington, D.C., region.

"We were all so excited about the multiple flavor offerings, and that they were not as tart as typical frozen yogurts. We were sold during that visit and are excited to have our own store," she said.

The fro.zen.yo concept is based on a self-serve a la carte format. The first fro.zen.yo opened in Friendship Heights in D.C. It now has eight locations open in the D.C. metro area and is in discussion with prospective franchisees to bring the brand to many other cities in the U.S. and overseas.

"We are excited to bring these experienced and motived entrepreneurs to the fro.zen.yo family," said Michael Rendelman, director of Franchising for fro.zen.yo."The self-serve model and unique culture of fro.zen.yo are proving to be exciting for consumers as well as prospective owners as we see the brand growing."

The fro.zen.yo menu features more than 38 flavors of frozen yogurt and a variety of fresh fruit, candy and other toppings such as caramel and free hot fudge. Customers get to choose any combination of flavors and toppings for 39 cents per ounce. Fro.zen.yo also offers Deer Park bottled water for 29 cents.

Fro.zen.yo is one of two franchised concepts being actively developed in the D.C. area with Franchise Consulting LLC (FC). FC was founded under the leadership of Mike Halpern and is responsible for the launch of franchised brands including Brown Bag: Cuisine on the Fly and Paisano's Pizza.
