Fro.Zen.Yo has signed a new development agency franchise partner for the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky market to open 25 units. The first unit is set to open this year.
The new Development Agency is headed by Basim Daoud, who grew up in the restaurant business. The Daoud family's franchises portfolio includes Gold Star Chili.
Daoud will assist new Fro.Zen.Yo franchisees in his territory with real estate, store construction, grand opening support and ongoing operational and marketing support in addition to other franchise related services.
"Our experience with Gold Star Chili will be an advantage to all Fro.Zen.Yo franchisees that partner with us to develop locations in Cincinnati and throughout Ohio. We are very excited to bring Fro.Zen.Yo to Ohio," Basim said. "We believe Fro.Zen.Yo has the best tasting product we've ever tried and offers the widest flavor variety that Ohioans will love."
Additionally, Washington, D.C.-based Fro.Zen.Yo has signed on a new multi-unit franchise partner in Baltimore.
The company, Sweet Pea LLC, is headed by Glenn Horenberg, co-owner of Horenberg Insurance Services Inc, an independent insurance agency.
"My family and I have been loyal customers of Fro.Zen.Yo Silver Spring (Md.) since it opened. When we are in the store we always observe long lines and happy customers. It was obvious to me that the investment potential was worth looking into," Horenberg said. "I see a great opportunity to open several locations in Baltimore similar to how Fro.Zen.Yo developed the Washington, DC area."
Fro.Zen.Yo also recently opened three new locations in the D.C. Metro area bringing the total number of stores to 15, with 35 franchises under contract for future development.
The first of the new locations opened in the Rosslyn neighborhood of Arlington, Va. It is operated by franchisees Gary Bobcek and Aviel Halioua. The second of the new locations opened in D.C.'s Chinatown neighborhood, while the third and most recent opening took place last week in the Takoma Park neighborhood.
