FTC to offer New Sandwich Innovation Workshop & Throwdown

June 3, 2010

Food Technical Consulting (FTC), an international food and beverage consulting company based in Denver, Colo., will offer a New Sandwich Innovation Workshop & Throwdown June 24 – 25, 2010 in Denver. The workshop and throwdown will be co-taught by Dr. Darrel Suderman and Chef Ed Janos, a gold medal-winning Certified Master Chef who owns Cooks Fresh Market in downtown Denver. The course is designed for culinary professionals and food technologists charged with continuous development of new product pipelines at quick serve restaurants, casual dining chains, and retail and convenience store businesses.

Suderman will teach the business processes for food innovation, ideation, menu strategies, and commercialization processes that he has perfected at leading QSR chains that included Kentucky Fried Chicken, Boston Market, Church's Chicken and Quiznos. At Church's Chicken, he developed the menu strategy aligned with the marketing strategy that resulted in four consecutive years of same store sales growth and record EBITDA profit growth even during the 2008 commodity price spikes and recession.

Chef Ed Janos has been in the restaurant scene for more than 15 years, and is the only practicing Certified Master Chef in Colorado. He is also the founder of Cook's Fresh Market located in Denver. Chef Ed will review more than 50 bread samples in preparation for the workshop that will focus on breakfast, entrée lunch and snack sandwiches.

FTC will also offer a two-day Food and Beverage Sustainability Self-Audit Preparation Workshop in Denver July 29-30, 2010 to both food and beverage manufacturers, as well as QSR restaurant chains, hospitals, grocers and convenience stores.
