McDonald's continues to spread its arches throughout the world. The chain is considering an expansion into Ghana in early 2011.
According to Peace FM, Seth El, a U.S.-based Ghanain, said units will initially open in populated areas in Accra, Ghana's capital and a busy port city located on the Gulf of Guinea. Such locations being considered include the Kotoka International Airport and the Accra Mall.
McDonald's Corp.'s second quarter 2010 sales were boosted by an increased global presence, including a 4.6 percent increase in Africa.
From the story:
The largest operator of McDonalds restaurants in Chicago, USA, one Canady is spearheading the move with some Ghanaian entrepreneurs resident in USA and UK. “We are also looking for a group of Ghanaian entrepreneurs who will partner Mr. Canady to run the business in Ghana as a joint venture,” Seth El said.
